The MCU has been going on for so long now, that we’re finally getting a comicbook style new #1 issue equivalent in show form for Daredevil in this soft reboot. I personally loved this show and was slightly weary as I didn’t like the direction and style of the Netflix Daredevil. The changes made were great for me and it is still pretty accessible to someone who didn’t watch the Netflix Daredevil seasons. Also, I adored every scene with Fisk and anything related to his side of the story and frankly preferred Murdock scenes as opposed to when he dons the mask. It really works as a crime show over a superhero show. The direction and style is a mash-up of like a HBO-take on MCU shows with some inspiration from the Penguin. I loved how very New Yorker it felt as you can really get a feel for the city. Also, the writing and direction was just excellent for me to the point where it feels like it’s tailor-made and personalised to my taste. I would like it if they expanded the scale of threat considering other active superheroes in NYC, but considering how they botched big comic event like Secret Invasion … I don’t mind keeping this plot and its consequences for the MCU within the show. Also, Fisk especially but the supporting cast also stole the show in terms of acting and I love a show with politics that really understands the word optics. Plus, the White Tiger subplot was a great side story and I liked Muse as a bad guy of the week villain. Overall, I think this might be the best MCU show I’ve seen and a large part in its credit goes to the directors, writers and Fisk’s acting ability alongside the supporting cast.
