“We’re the city. Without fear.” So glad the best marvel project returned and it WASN’T TERRIBLE WE CAN ALL CRY TEARS OF JOY. Right from the get go we all knew that this or at least the first season wasn’t going to be on the level of the netflix show or perfect. We had a whole creative reboot and fired crew members so obviously not. But we all know that this was the best decision ever made. The original show sounded so so bad and allegedly on the level of she-hulk in quality and, humour… and ALSO “cameos” from daredevil. Luckily that was put to a stop due to charlie and vincent not liking the direction it was heading. Really thanks to them like really. Well what we got from the pre-overhaul that had some reshoots to make it flow better etc. was honestly pretty good surprisingly. Obviously thats thanks to the reshoots since like mentioned earlier the original version sounded horrible. But yeah the. new characters were decent the standouts being heather and Kirsten. I honestly found cherry over-hated and alright but he EASILY could’ve just been Brett Mahoney, really upset that he wasn’t included in the comeback. Hopefully he returns i beg. An issue i do have though with the new characters is not that they aren’t on the same level as foggy and karen, its that they could’ve easily been used a lot more than they were. ESPECIALLY KIRSTEN like wow shes really good but we’re in desperate need of more of her because she had the least to do right next to angie kim who is a character that exists. New villain muse was good, cant wait for his return somehow in the next season because he IS alive. Hunter Doohan was perfectly casted and all is scenes were top tier especially in episode 7. I like tue villain but even i know we needed WAY more of him too but im settled with what we have for now. Now for the post-overhaul. “A masterpiece, complete comprehensive.” Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead 100% know what they’re doing with this show and i really cannot wait for season 2 as its all them and the new creative team. Bringing back foggy and Karen for that amazing, shocking and tragic opener was the best decision made. Foggys death is one of the saddest moments ever and it was done so perfectly tragic. Cannot believe the original show just killed foggy offscreen and wrote karen without any care, truly the most horrendous decision made. Also glad they brought back Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa. The fact that not only was she gonna be recast, they ACTUALLY FILMED SCENES WITH SANDRINE HOLT PLAYING HER. So dumb no hate to her but the recasting was just so dumb. So glad ayelet came back, being amazing in the role as always. Cant believe bullseye wasnt originally in the show too, glad hes back. Wilson Bethel is perfect in the role. And oh my was it so awesome having Jon Bernthal return as punisher. It couldn’t have been a more perfect comeback. Glad he walked away from the original show since they apparently messed with the character. I actually like that they went the episodic route with this show. We’ve had a few plots and arcs obviously the main one being Mayor Fisk and the Anti-Vigilante task force, a story im glad was in this. It just makes kingpin even more of a scary threat being mayor and i loved it. The punisher cops was also a great plot line, intertwining with the white tiger arc which was amazing and also ended on a tragic but perfect note. So glad my favourite show (yeah its not doctor who now) returned on a high note. Whilst flawed it was an awesome return and an amazing time watching it. So glad the show came back after that unfair cancellation. Im just so happy. And i cant wait for it to get better with season 2. (Starting punisher tomorrow im so amped)
