This is a much better adaptation of this storyline than the one in the anime. It makes it much more concise, is better looking, and doesn't have the extra fluff that the anime one had, making it paced better. I liked the fluff don't get me wrong, but this story was all ablut Ichigo's pain and his overcoming of that, not the soul society or anything else and I liked that better.
