                𝑰'𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒐.

He didn’t only saved Ellie, he saved himself. His daughter used to be his point of living. So when he lost her je try to kill him self but he missed, which is the story he told Ellie in this episode, and how he got that scar. Now that he found a new point of living, which is Ellie, he can’t go through that again.
Their tragic dynamic is officially one of my favourite dynamic of all time after rewatching this episode. 

I sincerely enjoyed that whole sequence when Joel went assassin mode to find Ellie. I kind of wish they did that whole sequence in one shot, this could have been unbelievable. But this was still such an amazing sequence anyway, one of my favourite of the season for sure.

To be fair, the real reason why I started to rewatch this season is because I watched the trailer of season 2 and didn’t understand what "you swore" with such a disappointment expression on Ellie’s face was about. I didn’t remember that ending, except that he saved her; I didn’t remember he lied to her about the cure and what happened. I can’t wait to see but also am afraid to see the consequences that this lie would create in the season coming up very soon.
