Very sweet and lovely show. Surprisingly well paced for just 3 episodes, even if at least a couple things could've been fleshed out. Masaki and Harumi make for one of the sweetest neurodivergent romances of our generation. Meanwhile, Kana's arc just kills me every time. They grabbed the bittersweet knife plunged into me after FLCL Alternative and twisted it harder than I could ever anticipate. She is a true cautionary tale of a character.
It's the least zany FLCL. It's very moody and subdued, and it works well for this story of emptiness and not fitting in. The lack of random gags and extra minimal callbacks makes this season feel more focused and earnest than any of the other sequel seasons. Excluding Haruko was a smart idea.
If this is indeed the last FLCL, then I'm glad it ended on such a nice note. I think this show and Alternative are some of the most underrated anime ever.
