i knew who the killer was throughout the entire rewatch but i had to make sure my dad and sister didn’t know 💀


categorizing what Joe and Danny “had” wouldn’t make it much better, would it? optics are everything and the optics of it just doesn’t help. 

however 🙌 IF I’M PLAYING THE DEVILS ADVOCATE HERE 🙌 if Joe were more public about it and treated it like it were a normal thing, maybe it wouldn’t have looked too bad. like if Joe even told Ellie like “hey Danny’s coming over to have a chat” it might’ve changed things. 
but the secret meetings, the prolonged hugs, the fact that he was in love…none of it was normal or ordinary. so it wasn’t a normal relationship to begin with. 

what i had described was not a reality, because Joe himself is flawed with a disorder that plagues millions of people. there’s no real making sense of it - and who knows how far he would’ve gone, or maybe, he wouldn’t have gone that far. either way though, it’s better that he stays away from children. 

also, Beth’s question to Ellie, just like Ellie’s question to Susan, “how could you not know?” is valid but a bit ignorant. she didn’t know that Mark was cheating on her, Susan didn’t know about her husband and her daughters (fucking gross btw), and Ellie didn’t know that her husband was a bit noncy. pretty sure that family members don’t know everything about each other despite being around each other everyday. like be fr. 

depressing episode but beautiful despite it.
