I’m so late to the party with this show and I’ve been putting it off for so long because I don’t like the animation and superhero genre in general. But this was SUCH a breathe of fresh air. I can proudly say that this season was so much fun and well written with mostly perfect pacing. It accomplishes such a good story with only 8 episodes with an absolutely insane finale that’s within my top 50 TV episodes Mark and Omni-Man are the obvious stand outs and I won’t say anything about them because it’s already been said 1000 times on this app but yeah they have a great dynamic and a relatable storyline. The best thing Invincible does it how it perfectly subverts your expectations of so many tropes. It’s like The Boys if it were good. It’s a subversion of the superhero genre by making the characters unbelievably flawed and complex. It subverts the animation style that it adapted from those typical cartoons you would see for other superhero shows (the end of episode 1 is engraved into my brain). So much emotional dialogue too it makes me emotional thinking about the exchanged between characters in the finale it’s so good. It’s not without its flaws though. Some side plots and characters get a little too much screen-time. And the final episode has a case of it feeling rushed in its 2nd half. But everything else is great and I would totally take those mediocre subplots that basically every TV show contains in order to recieve some of the finest writing I’ve watched in a long time.
