The Wire Season 5 is good. The writing is sharp, the
characters are still top-tier, but compared to the previous seasons, it feels a little rushed.
The focus on journalism is interesting and fits the show's themes, but it doesn't hit as hard as the systems explored before. The police politics, and street dynamics are still there, but some storylines feel a bit forced, and a few character arcs could have used more time. That said, the performances are still fantastic, and the final stretch is gripping.
Even if it's not peak Wire, it still delivers a strong ending, tying up loose ends while staying true to the show's brutally realistic style. It might not reach the heights of earlier seasons, but it's still The Wire, which means it's better than most TV out there.
