this ep was so fucking good and is pretty much the perfect ending to the season. i think the start of s3 is gonna be more of a slower stretch as there was not much set up but that doesn’t take away from this ep at all. overall, i feel the s1 finale is probably slightly better and peaks higher with vics breakdown but it could go either way. spoilers one of my new favourite characters is tavon, one of the better sub plots this season was the strike team having to adapt to a new member thanks to acaveda which added good conflict to the story. i think the process of vic scaring off other candidates throughout the season and him being very cautious ensured me that tavon would be the right pick and this episode definitely showed that. the russian roulette scene was just perfect and shows how he can adapt to situations just like vic and u can see he was loving watching tavon finally ‘prove himself’ as part of the team. one of my favourite things with characters like this is how one scene they can be likeable and charismatic just like tavon towards the apartment manager to let them in and then not too long later they are full on crazy. Julien this season has not been particularly interesting to me, the development through his sexuality has definitely added depth to his character but i dont really see that going anywhere in the story tbh apart from the firings of those annoying cops which ended up leading to him being beat up which kinda reminds me of when they peer pressured him into beating that woman that bit danny earlier in the season. acaveda being promoted is definitely gonna cook the team AND claudette is becoming captain like i dont see how something rlly bad doesnt happen to them next season and i have a feeling something they did in the past will come back up. the train heist was actually perfect and it followed the formula for what makes it so great- starts off going to plan, something unexpected happens, the characters do something unexpected to resolve the issue and then they succeed which perfectly added tension. the action sequence was perfect and the cinematography and camera movement is peak which perfectly shows the chaotic nature of the event.
