Loved watching a new episode every week and seeing my social media covered in Severance content. It will definitely go down as a very memorable season of television. The show’s biggest strength to me has always been its cinematography. It is no doubt one of the best shows on air right now in that regard. There were so many instances where they got to showcase this, notably in 2x4 and 2x7 where they really went all out with completely different settings. I would love to give this a 4.5 but when I look back on this season as a whole, I do wish it was more coherent. I mentioned this in my 2x8 review, but personally I thought that some of the episodes felt a bit disconnected from each other. When I compare it to the first season, I don’t think it had as much of a consistent direction. Also by the time it came to the last few episodes, the mystery did start to lose a bit of steam for me. Although individually, some of the episodes in the middle of the season are impressive, this portion of the show often felt like it was meandering along, giving very little attention to the lingering questions. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s basically the only reason why I wouldn’t give the season a higher rating, along with maybe one or two of the weaker episodes from the series so far. Anyways, back to a positive note, the finale was so thrilling and it twists the show into a very interesting direction. There are endless reasons as to why Lumon is so wrong in whatever they are doing. But now that the innies have had a glimpse at their outside lives, I’m so curious as to how they deal with the harsh reality that escaping the building doesn’t necessarily mean gaining the freedom that they envision. I can’t get over those last 10 minutes of the finale, this was where that thought really hit me. Is it really possible for the innies to get any sort of happy ending given the conflict they have with their outies, especially Mark and Helly? I can’t wait to see whatever they have in store for season 3. The people working on this show are so talented, both the production team and the cast. I expect to see an abundance of award nominations and it deserves to win in a fair bit of categories. The main four actors - Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry and John Turturro all had a significant role this season and they absolutely nailed their characters. Shoutout to Tramell Tillman as well, the delivery of his lines are iconic. Mr Milchick couldn’t have been casted any better, whoever thinks otherwise can “devour feculence”. Top Three Episodes: 1. 2x10 ‘Cold Harbor’ (5/5) 2. 2x4 ‘Woe’s Hollow’ (4.5/5) 3. 2x5 ‘Trojan’s Horse’ (4/5)
