An extremely good episode of television and a strong conclusion to the season. Even though it doesn’t actually reveal too many answers to the show’s lingering questions, it definitely had that big finale feel to it. 

Going from the start, the back and forth camera conversations between Mark’s innie and outie were driving me crazy. It was such an amazing way of creating tension between them. The switching between the innies and outies will never not be cool, the way it transitions to Mark being in the elevator at Lumon was so abrupt and I loved it. 

I also like how they gave time to properly address Dylan’s situation. I’m quite happy with how they resolve his innie not dying, the letter from his outie was really touching. Also, Mr. Milchick and the marching band, what a sequence that was. You just never know what is going to unfold in this show, there’s always something bizarre bound to happen. 

The violence in this episode was pretty crazy as well. Mark using the blood that got dropped on his tie was so smart, I love the detail. Then of course, Mark saving Gemma, the moment we’d all been waiting for. The scene where Gemma is finally free of Lumon but is screaming for Mark to leave with her was heartbreaking. Mark staying for Helly was obviously going to happen, but their fate is just so uncertain, I don’t really know how they can write their way to a happy ending between them. The whole setup this season with Mark and Helly paid off though and the closing scene with them running through the flickering hallways was brilliant along with the immaculate song choice. 

Overall, this is the 2nd best episode of the show for me, behind 1x9. Severance finales continue to be peak television.
