If you didn't watch season 1 and thought about watching the show when season 2 finishes, you are better off waiting for season 3. I don't think the wait is really worth it, unless you hate yourself or something.
The very first scene in S2E01 where Mark runs around empty halls and ultimately finds nothing perfectly describes this season. You can make a fan-cut edition removing all the long pauses and wide shots, keep just the relevant bits and it would barely be 5 hours long.
Season 2 of Severance has some really pretty shots for aspiring cinematographers or admirers of that aspect of a production to gawk at, that's about it. Style over substance. Season 1 was so great and then this season the writers decided to just write themselves into a corner for the personal creative challenge, not caring about the viewer.
This season is a bunch of open ended plotlines that barely answers any questions and made me stop caring about the mystery. The worst mistake a show can make. TV shows are supposed to tell you a story, not make you play 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' in your head every. single. episode. without any feeling of resolve and satisfaction of having watched that current episode.
It ends in a cliffhanger right in the middle of the story. I said it before somewhere, nowadays season arcs don't end in full stops anymore, just commas. Makes it really hard to recommend to people.
