Worst season so far. Carried hard by Negan’s charisma and his dynamic with Rick. 7x01 was brutal—in a good way. Easily one of the most impactful episodes of the entire series. But in a weird way, it set a tone the rest of the season struggled to follow through on. Almost like everything after it felt deflated.

Normally I’m all for bouncing between groups to keep things fresh, but this season took it a bit too far. Alexandria, The Saviors, Hilltop, The Kingdom, Oceanside, the Scavengers… it’s just a lot. Spreading focus so wide meant we went full episodes without checking in on major characters. Maggie, Carol, Daryl—gone for stretches at a time, and the story lost momentum because of it.

Thought the finale might pull it together. It didn’t. Sasha had a strong, emotional exit (honestly one of the better character deaths in a while), but I still hated to lose her. Felt more connected to her than Rosita, who somehow made it through the season despite being borderline unbearable most of the time.

The worst part? Negan and the Saviors are great villains. Easily the most compelling threat the show’s had. But we end the season basically where we started: Rick’s group trying to rise up, Negan still on top. The only difference is a few new allies. It just felt like 16 episodes of treading water.

Disappointing. Even boring at times. There were solid moments here and there, but it never hit the highs we expect from TWD. Hoping Season 8 leans into the war and gives the show some much-needed energy.
