It's all a great big dumb paradox to solve an unsolvable problem that doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Spits in the face of how paradoxes worked in prior season. The most liberal use of such a device in the reboot so far yet also lends itself well to the overarching theme of the season. Brazen enough to not feel totally lost in its strides, and cathartic enough to not be a complete waste of time.
