The Wire (2002)
The Wire is the most realistic and under grounded TV show ever. This series perfectly explores the world of Baltimore, one of the most poorest city in USA. The main theme of this show is fallen system of Baltimore and it can be seen everywhere: politics, media, docks and even schools. This series might be not for everyone because of not the best pacing and some plot lines might be boring. But this series wants from you 2 things: pay attention to every detail and be patient. Every season is a build-up for one event that will happen in last 2-3 episodes and it will be satisfying. I’m so happy that I watched this show, so I understand why this show is one of the highest rated on IMDb and many critics call this show as one of the best (if not the best) TV series. Seasons ranked: 🥇Season 4: Easily the best and most realistic season in the show. Every single plot was amazingly written and entertaining (T2 season OAT) 🥈Season 3: From this season this show peaked right here 🥉Season 1: Great start for the show, might be little bit slow in the start, but the second half and last few episodes are satisfying pay-off 🏅Season 5: Overhated season as S2, the media plot was good and deliver good social messages. But I have to agree that as a final season it’s pretty weak 🎖️Season 2: Overhated season, but it could be better. Dock plot was not really engaging as drug plot in S1 Top 5 characters: 🥇Omar Little 🥈Russell “Stringer” Bell 🥉Jimmy McNulty 🏅Reginald "Bubbles" Cousins 🎖️Marlo Stainfield HM: D’Angelo Barksdale, Preston “Bodie” Broadus, Lester Freamon, Bunk Moreland, Michael Lee, Namond Brice, Prez (this show has the best side cast imo and it’s hard for me to pick the best character) Top 5 episodes: 🥇Final Grades (4x13) 🥈Middle Ground (3x11) 🥉-30- (5x10) 🏅That’s Got His Own (4x12) 🎖️Late Editions (5x9) HM: Cleaning Up, Mission Accomplished, A New Day, Clarifications Overall: Mid 5/5 (T5 show)
