Invincible is probably the most brutal and gory animation I've ever seen. The only one that could top it is Primal, but I think they're pretty close. Perhaps Ninja Scroll falls into that category as well. Invincible is everything superhero animation and anime want to censor so as not to upset their audience. Here, none of that. They show everything, even deaths from collateral damage, and in the bloodiest way possible. They hold nothing back. If you were looking for something more brutal than Dragon Ball Z, with a mature yet entertaining plot, featuring countless villains raining down on the protagonist to kick his ass, then this is your show. The plot continues to evolve from previous seasons, so watching the previous material is a must, although if you're part of the target audience, you'll enjoy every episode. The minuscule negative points are the lack of cohesion in the season's overall plot and a couple of deus ex machinas. The rest is just for enjoyment. I'd even go so far as to say that the animation quality has improved, especially as shown in the final episode, which is the most brutal of all. I know animation offers endless possibilities for scripts, but I'm dying to see some of this in live action, as it has the potential to be something epic. 8.0/10
