I am absolutely impressed with how this show really steps up time and time again for season finales. NGL they lost me in the first half. First off I want to say Eve and Mark in this final episode actually finally convinced me that they do indeed have a deep and mutual bond for one another and that their relationship is very deep. My initial criticism of their relationship was that their relationship felt very forced and sort of a cop out/giving in to something that the fans wanted in spite of Mark being in a previous relationship with Amber and the hate surrounding that character however, this episode truly imo came through for this couple. The moment in which both Eve and Mark struggle with the idea of losing each other while fighting this very insane battle. Eve waking up from her literal death bed to fight for Mark, almost dying herself THEN regenerating to protect him...learning that her powers overrode her blocks because she was in such a traumatic situation...seeing Mark do everything he could to protect her at the end also ensuring that Oliver would never be harmed. There are so many moving things from this episode in terms of character dynamics that I genuinely loved and adored. Season 4 however is gearing up to be a dark season in my opinion because Mark himself says that...“Oliver you were right. So if anyone else ever puts my family or anyone I love, at risk…I won’t hesitate to kill them.” To me Mark saying that almost justifies why Cecil is so careful and constantly betrays mark even though Cecil keeping Conquest in that facility knowing he will be able to regenerate and get out is such a stupid choice...should've listened to Mark. The imagery of Eve being nude after atom regeneration and Mark being covered in blood is what really moved me and convinced me of their love tbh. It was so intentionally placed as yin/yang a relationship that even in their last moments they would give their all if it meant the other could live. What an outstanding finale, I cannot wait for season 4. Oh also the introduction of the biggest villain ever? SWEET! Can't wait for more! Oh and Powerplex is lowkey right but that's another conversation. Ahihi see y'all next year!
