Oh em gee~! This drama series is like a pleasant surprise. Like, really the biggest surprise for me this first quarter of the year, I think. And now, it's over... 🥹 At first, I was not expecting much from this one. I came here for Tan Jianci and I will never doubt his choice of projects anymore. I never really did, but I am more convinced now more than ever~ ❣️ Okay, I have thoughts... First of all, the chaos of this drama is just out of this world~! (It should, as that Filter bracelet is still looking like alien tech to me). As I have said before, this has been my Laughter button for the good amount of time this is airing. It was crazy how hilariously chaotic moments become a tearjerker the next minute. Like, how? The way they balanced the comedy to the drama is still beyond me. Again, it has tumbled my emotions time and again. I felt as if my emotional gears were broken from laughing and crying one after the other, or at the same time. But what I love most abt this drama is the many life lessons it conveyed. I seldom find a drama with a clear message to the audience. Usually, they are subtly delivered through situations and sometimes dialogues but this one screams. From the beginning to end, they speak of what beauty is, what strength is, what love is, what we are and how we can embrace ourselves. Oh, there are so many... I perhaps need a list, tbh. I esp love how Tang Qi has resolved the internal struggle of Chengcheng with wearing make up. Them being in the beauty industry, it's inevitable to use them. But these products do not dictate who you are. Whether you wear it or not is up to you, but it does not change who you are inside. I love this part so much. But mostly, I love the title of this drama, Filter. It means that we all have our own filter inside us, and all of us differ in the way we view things. It is just up to us how we use the filter that we have. Bec what we see (what we filter) and how we view things also reflects the way we view ourselves. It is impossible not to love this series once you start it. And I am so thankful that I did not refrain from the initial annoying parts bec then I wouldn't be here, right? I cannot praise this drama enough. This is definitely a highly recommended one on my list~ superb~ ❣️✨
