yes, YES, YES
i’m satisfied, i really am.
The fight aside, there’s not much i feel the need to address, atleast for this ep, since i don’t really care for the characters at the centre of it anyway. The rating here reflects the fight in isolation for the same reason, or else i’d bump it down.
figured there had to be a reason for the poor animation this season, and a reason there was. In retrospect, this feels like a three course meal in comparison, which should speak volumes since its by no means anything groundbreaking. Its a great fight with great animation yes, in iso, but lets be honest, for the amount of hype as well as the pedestal people put this season on, the animation we get 90% of the time, is unacceptable. 10 mill per ep (take this with a grain of salt, not verified this) is crazy, it genuinely is. I’m a firm believer of good animation not being mandatory when talking abt animated shows. That said however, it depends on what kind of show we’re talking, and with that in mind, i can’t help but arriving at the same conclusion however or whichever route i take when thinking this over, this is one of the most overrated seasons in recent memory. The show is quite ineffective in its production process, i seriously do think so, but let that not overshadow this 45 minute event, amazing television right here.
(yes i complain a tad here, but i would like to emphasize that its more so abt the season and less so abt the ep, think of this as my season review.)
On second thought there is a thing post fight worth mentioning, rex’s funural followed by the Eve & Mark scene was.. peculiar, to say the least. Similar to the cait & vi scene in arcane it just disrupts the point of in this case paying homage to Rex.
