The most compelling acting I’ve seen so far. This is a necessary show that is a PSA and should win somebody an oscar. Adolescence tackles the lack of positive role models for young boys, incels, and after watching parents might actually talk to their kids and ponder before they get them a phone. We have Jamie who is an example of unchecked media consumption. Owen Cooper plays a terrifyingly normal 13 yo boy. He demonstrates misogyny in a way that—and this is also thanks to the brilliant writing, my own wokeness, and also he straight up sayin this stuff— that feels ever present and it resensitizes me to these crazy ideals. I feel bad for parents because the world really is coming up with new ways to destroy us and they have a lot to focus on somethings slip through the cracks. But topics like the ones in this show are too important for your child to go on with a rudimentary concept. Also learned that the filming style is One-Shot which is why it’s so intense and the real timeness of it keeps you glued!
