Ruth is the best character in this show - Julia Garner is superb deserving of all her awards love, and the slowly gradual transformation of Laura Linney’s character into Lady Macbeth is welcomed. Jason Bateman is the weak link, as is the glaring refusal to use any kind of colour, but it’s a smart, gripping thriller that goes from strength to strength.
