this adaptation was perfect for me personally, i know some people will have problems with it or even find sang yan to be a very unrealistic ml but i found that to be one of the more charming part of the show for me. idc about all that green flag/forest shit asian drama stans are obsessed with, for me he was emotionally intelligent, secure, funny & a lover boy downnn i couldn’t hate even if i tried. i believe the director had a vision of telling this story & executed the best way he could. to me sang yan & wen yifan are a shakespearean type of love story & its been a long time since i’ve seen a love like that in modern entertainment. the pure love, devotion, warmth, fondness & intimacy sangyifan gave us episode after episode will stick with me for a very long time. wen yifan….i actually just tear up thinking about her & her story, her growth, her STRENGTH and resilience, her kindness has made her become one of my favorite female protagonist of all time. i never doubted this casting but man zhang rounan & bai jingting brought their A game here especially zrn, they brought these characters to LIFE like their chemistry is one for the history books. i will genuinely miss this couple so so so very much 😣❤️‍🩹
