I fully expect backlash from this but I need to speak my mind, and I am baffled I didn’t see any other comments addressing this. (I swear I’ll shut up about this forever after this) The Danielle disrespect by the cast is ridiculous and blatant. This entire reunion, Danielle was being interrupted and straight up ignored. And when she wasn’t being completely disregarded, the shade was through the roof. I’ll start by saying I really enjoyed this cast, and I love both Carolyn and Gabby, but I was getting severe mean girl energy here. Carolyn immediately crying when asked if she felt disrespected by Danielle is sad, and sure we didn’t see everything, but this seems like a classic case of having too thin of skin to be playing reality TV. Carolyn admitted this herself during the reunion; she acknowledges that her personality gets her far in reality shows, but it still hurts her personally. Gabby jumping in and egging Carolyn on was hard to watch. Danielle straight up says she was overplaying her emotions and, admittedly, it was cringe at times as a viewer but you can’t deny that she came to play. It feels really wrong that people hype up Boston Rob’s gameplay for example, but when Danielle puts 110% effort in, it’s too over the top, disrespectful, and unnecessary? Hmm… I want to be clear that I am in no way defending ALL of her actions or words, in fact I think she made a lot of mistakes. But for a reunion and cast that seemed to be mostly kumbaya, I couldn’t help but think about how isolated Danielle must’ve felt. This is why we need to cast regular people again because when they cast gamers, gamers will game and non-gamers will take offense. Taylor Hale made some really good points about being a Black woman in reality tv on RHAP recently. I encourage you to listen.
