If you're looking for an accurate soccer portrayal, go watch Ted Lasso. If you're looking for an adorable romance that's both second chance and also rivals-to-lovers, this is the one for you. While the soccer in it is inaccurately-made at best and sloppy at worst (you can definitely see the budget is lacking here), the show is more about the inner relationships between the people on the pitch than it is about the actual game itself. The show features a struggling soccer team and the men brought in to "save" it, a group of idols who are more interested in getting their careers back on track than playing soccer. But there's more to the ragtag group than meets the eye, leaving viewers to wonder what it means to be the "ultimate fan," having cute moments that comment on fandom behaviors and interactions, and of course, the fluffiest fluff to ever fluff when it comes to the MCs. There are storylines that feel halfway dropped in the plot, and a few others that seem a little too quickly tied up in the final episode in a way that make you go "I don't think that was the right move, but okay?" but you'll be so happy rooting for the couples in this that it won't actually bother you to see how it goes. On the final episode, as I realized plot points were wrapping up, I found myself devastated... what do you mean, my comfort cuties are done? This is my last week to get to watch them? This is my last new content from my boys? FC Soldout is one of those sleeper shows where it's easy to point out the flaws in it, but the true beauty of the show is how many moments you'll find yourself smiling ear-to-ear regardless of them.
