Oh God. Oh wow. Oh no. Let's get this out of the way: they definitely used more of the show's budget on these last couple of episodes. The animation was noticeably better than previous episodes, and it was so fluid. I get that not everyone would probably notice, but I'm glad that they did this for such an impactful episode. Mark keeps getting put through the ringer, and this episode was a heavy hitter. Not only does he find out that Angstrom is still alive, after spending the whole season mentally torturing himself for "killing" him, but now he has to face seeing other [Title Card]s killing likely millions of people in only 3 days. This episode was so wild for that. We get callbacks like Omni-Mark echoing his dad's words, another Darkwing getting beat up by another Viltrumite in almost the same way. And small moments like the other heroes briefly contemplating Powerplex's words about Invincible, or Cecil being real with Mark just added to the depth of this episode and the show. For an event that isn't really that long, this is basically a mini-Shibuya Incident for Invincible. So much happens in so little time, and the consequences detach you from reality by showing all these real-life cities destroyed by the Invincibles. But the most devastating moment of all was when Rex went out in the most heroic, creative, and Rex-like fashion. Not to mention Conquest showing up at Mark's lowest point, which is bad timing considering the situation, but also good timing since Mark could really use a punching bag. Can't wait to see how this season ends because it's been a thrill.
