A Season With Many Improvements And A Few Issues

The Flash’s second season is incredible even if it’s essentially the same as season one with slightly different elements. While we have higher highs but lower lows. This season has such great story about a hero who gives everyone hope believing he’ll never be happy and waking up from nightmares every night. Then a hero who must accept sacrifice and loss. The main themes this season are great. 

Zoom is an incredible villain. The only reason the characters aren’t instantly killed is that Zoom is on another Earth. He might be the best main antagonist on the show. RIP Tony Todd. The white logo makes the Flash suit as perfect as variation could be. It looks so good. The Zoom suit is fine but the mask makes it terrifying. 

Also the fake Jay suit is incredible, one of my favorite Arrowverse suits and the real Jay Garrick suit is pretty cool. The CGI is still great. Patty easily one of the best characters on The Flash and she gets like 10 episodes! She was end game. Spallen for life. 

Those lows are noticeable now, at least more so. Barry is written to be very stupid sometimes. In particular the first Earth-2 episode. The writing is sometimes not good. Big issues solved between episodes, corny villain dialogue and weak motivations keep this season from being perfect. The crossover this season is pretty mid. Heroes Join Forces is probably the lease interesting Arrowverse crossover. 

Making the Speedforce a sentient being is very stupid and honestly a bit creepy. Over all the stupid ideas this season will grow and ruin the show by season 7 but for now they are just brief ideas in the sea of how freaking cool every single moment is when Zoom is on screen. This is pretty easily my favorite season of the Flash and one of the top 4 seasons of the Arrowverse.
