Here are my tired thoughts (it’s 4 in the morning here and I should be asleep): • Conan wasn’t bad at all I just feel like the Oscar’s are difficult to make funny but he was as good as you can be really! • of course Kieran culkin was getting the Oscar but it’s so nice to see him get one (even if it’s lowkey category fraud) • flow getting animated feature was such a nice surprise! • I predicted most awards but I’m surprised how much anora sweeped, I’d love to see more variation but it’s really deserving so I don’t mind • I was mad about the nomination snub for dune before I just hope they sweep with messiah (Denis you shall be avenged!) • I liked the choice of having actors present for some technical categories like costume/cinematography they need more appreciation! • no other land winning was awesome, I still need to see it but I’m glad they made that speech! • is it just me or is bringing out the firemen kind of silly just to clap at them? Of course showing appreciation but I just hope the academy made a big donation or something that would actually help (it just reminds me of clapping for the nhs during Covid here in the uk, I see the sentiment but more government funding might have made a bigger difference?) • well done mikey madison! I knew deep down she would win it, but I was hopeful for Demi Moore, it would’ve been so cool to see Demi Moore get an Oscar for the fucking substance but that’s not meant to undermine mikey she was incredible! • I really thought they were about to announce the next bond but it was just songs (how much did amazon pay for that segment?) • also nick offerman narrating was very exciting for me specifically!
