"𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮."
Hands down the most perfect & beautiful conclusion I could ever ask for this show. I have genuinely no word neither I want to write about it, it’s one the most perfect TV episodes when there’s nothing but dialogues, but some of the most impactful i could ever heard in a TV Show, the art of explaining without explanation.
’The Book of Nora’ is one of the most fitting conclusion for a show I’ve ever seen, the most fitting because The Leftovers is this kind of show with these mysteries that you want them selfishly to be explained and 100% debunk because it’s frustrating to not know, but The Leftovers is all about that, The Leftovers is one of these shows that knew how to end its story because they know that the departure wasn’t the important thing, it’s everything that followed. Well I don’t think anyone on earth who watched this, have been in front of this very last episode waiting for answers, the intentions of the show have been really made clear over the course of it but still, we don’t make such beautiful ones and so in line with the show’s messages.
Kevin & Nora was over the show, one of the most interesting relationship I’ve ever seen, frustrating and complex, and this episode is literally the culmination of every piece of their relationship, honestly I’ve rarely such a beautiful and well-written relation in a single episode, obviously carries the whole episode but even the first 10 minutes with Matt, I already knew that the episode was going to touch me enormously.
The last scene & the danse scene are maybe my two favorites of the whole show, gathering all of what The Leftovers is about so genuinely & with a touch of simplicity but truly rich, two scenes I won’t soon forget.
I already praised enough Justin Theroux over the show and even the last episode, but I gotta to say that here he again just was out of the world. Carrie Coon is in the same standards, I can’t even explain how these beautiful actors with only dialogues and there act, the way they delivered these lines, had me wheep with sadness but mostly with joy,
It is with no doubt, not only my favorite of this series, but one of the best TV episodes that I ever watched, often touched by episodes tbh, but rarely this much, thank you The Leftovers.
