This is one of the best things i’ve ever watched, i’m not going to limit this by calling it the best anime ever because it deserves more praise than that.
“Even if it wasn’t rose colored, I could see each 4.5 tatami had it’s own color to it”
It’s one of best works on existentialism i’ve ever seen because of how simply it presents itself to the viewer. For such an extravagant piece of art the message it carried was really simple. At the end of the day the life you choose is your own, striving for perfection but losing originality is the end of your life. He tried to get to the rose colored life he wanted for forever and was willing to abandon his current life without any thought, and after failing to get to the perfect life for thousands of lifetimes, he gives up.
The yearning for perfection removed any sense of color from his current life and that’s why the last two episodes were monochrome, live action clips were used to show the discomfort he was facing, the blend of everything was just perfect.
“You must accept that you are the person here, now, and you cannot become anyone else other than that person”
