"Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man" is a show Spider-man fans need in an era where the character gets assasinated frequently. I was one of the first haters when it comes to this show. Why? Well first, it's an MCU animation (which doesnt have good track record btw) and the animation looks ugly to watch. When the first three eps released, I couldn't believe that it got so much praise.. I thought "Nah it's probably just a honeymoon phase. MCU show always been like that since Wandavision". What shocked me to the core is that, the praise kept coming every week until the finale where almost everyone ik glaze over it. I read the reviews from ppl who alr watched and I was like ok, lets dive into this with an open mind and honestly that was one of the best decision I have ever made this year😭💯 This show is such a blast from the first episode until the last. It's exciting and it has hearts. The comedy is funny. The writing, they got it mostly right. The action scenes are spectacular. It's really THAT fun and heartwarming to watch. I love Peter Parker so much and this show handled this character beautifully. Unlike the MCU counterpart, this is THE Spider-man I have been missing all this years from the screen. This type of writing should have been in the MCU, but whatever.. Whoever decided to pick Norman Osborn as Peter's mentor (replacing Tony Stark) needs to get a raise. Norman Osborn is my favorite part of the show. He is not even a full villain yet in this season and he's still intimidating. His gaslighting needs to be studied. I can't wait to see bro in Green Goblin suit. Finna be a blast to watch. The action is smooth and also brutal. I was shocked when I watched the first fight with Scorpion. I honestly didn't think it's gonna be that brutal. They didn't hold back and I hope they are making it crazier and more brutal next season🙏 I feel like this show is perfect at presenting its MCU references and characters. This show doesn't hold back showing other heroes. It feels natural and doesn't feel like just a special cameo to attract people to watch this show. They show up simply because they exist. It makes you believe that the universe you watch already has other superheroes who also lives in New York. It just makes sense for me than just leaving it to one guy just because it's not their show. I mean, one or two appearance won't take away the audience attention from the main character. The audience aint that dumb🙏 Ok now onto the bad stuffs. So like I was saying from the beginning, the animation is still ass💔 it's not always ass tho cuz the bangers this show offered made me easy to ignore them. BUT STILL, I can see how ass it is. It's like 30% cool, 40% tolerable, 30% ass 💔. What do I mean by "ass"? It looks so stiff and lifeless. It's noticeable during big scenes when the streets suddenly become empty when the next or prev scene, there are literally other ppl watching the fight. Characters' reaction animation not convincing enough sometimes and it comes off weird. I dig the artstyle dont get me wrong, but they just need to improve the animation and maybe i will not be so hard on it. I wasn't on board with the supporting characters they chose for this show. I mean, Nico? Pearl? Who are these mfs bro? Yes, I know they are comicbook characters who are superheroes, but come on... it's supposed to be Peter, MJ, and Harry. I love Nico Minoru tho, she was cool in this show, I just feel like it's not the best choice for her to be in this show. So what do I think? They are cool characters, but it would have been better with the OG supporting imo cuz I don't really see the need of this change. Last bad stuff or stuff im not a fan off is the ending i guess cuz I feel like the last 5 mins is just quick scenes of supporting characters doing something to set up the next season 😭. Like bro, I'm fine if it's just one or two, but nahh, they prolly thought "everybody got secrets and let's tease them in the last seconds".. like man, it didn't flow that well. Just let Spidey do his final swing after that last convo with Strange and then add a post credit about May talking to that "prisoner". OK BTW THAT FINAL SWING WAS FUCKING GLORIOUS THO like I swear.. they cooked so hard at that part. So in conclusion. I was 1000% wrong about this show. Just because it was an MCU show and has bad animation, it doesn't mean it would be a bad show. It's actually a really great and fun show. For older Spider-man fans, it might give you nostalgia at some parts cuz I felt that too. So yeah, watch this show CUZ ITS PEAK💯 (If that leak about Gwen was true, the season 2 might be a dogwater💔)
