Watching this first season just before the new one made me feel like a total asshole, I cannot even imagine how painful the wait for S2 must have been for the people who watched Severance when it was first coming out.
I'm also ashamed that I only now caught up with it, but I think I made the right choice to watch it just before season 2.
This season is incredible, all the good things I heard about it were right, all the bad things that said that it only gets good by the end were WRONG. This show is incredibly engaging from the get go, I can't remember the last timr a show had people so intrigued in its mysyeries. If you get people theorizing about your show from all over the internet, you did something great, something special. Had no idea Ben Stiller had this in him, like, what do you mean my favorite actor from when I was a child, who I liked for his comedic roles, is MAKING THIS?! He better stay on the direction path as long as he can because he totally deserves a spot in the TV Hall of fame for directors.
All actors are also formiddable, I don't have anything specific to clap my hands to because everyone is so good, it's so easy to fall in love with the innies and to hate Lumon's assholes, except Milchick, he's a goof ball, an evil, devilish, goof ball. I loved Adam Scott in Parks and Rec a huge amount, Ben Wyatt was my favorite character, so it's very cool to see him in something else that isn't Madame Web.
One of the greatest things about Severance is the set design obviously, there's so much care and attention behind everything. The Aestethic that characterizes the whole severed floor is so well done. The choice of colors both in set design and color grading is also phenomenal.
By the time I'm writing this review (1 month late), I'm half way trough S2, and I'm so excited to see where it goes, every episode is a hit
