7.6/10
Definitely the weakest episode of the show so far, but I can still see the vision. Severance continues to deliver an incredible atmosphere, with stunning visuals that perfectly complement the eerie, overwhelming pressure of Lumen. The whole place feels like a strange, virtual world, and it’s really working for me.
Irving is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. He just seems so happy and kind, but Petey’s warning about him not being what he seems is making me nervous. So far, he appears normal, but with how Severance operates, I doubt that’s the full story.
Helly’s struggle for freedom is genuinely heartbreaking. When her request was denied, and she said, “My outie would never do that,” it really hit me. It makes me think that the innies aren’t just robotic extensions of their outies but have actual lives and emotions of their own.
Every episode so far has ended on such a creepy and unsettling note, and this was no exception. There’s definitely something up with Petey, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
