Just concluded watching this entire series over the last 48 hours or so. I went in with extremely low expectations but was pleasantly Surprised by how fun and quirky the show was and how even though it's kind of formulaic and the concept is something we've seen before in many ways it took a fun approach sort of like a Shaun of the dead meets, oh what the hell is that show? where they're like back in time in medieval times in a castle and there's like pop culture references and stuff? I think it's on USA network or whatever. I don't know, it's beside the point. It's sort of like those two shows combined.
My only real complaint about this show would be the same thing I complain about a lot of BBC productions is the low budget, the rushed production and the short number of episodes per season. It makes it hard to stay invested in.
The frustrating part of that really is that the show kind of gets good around season two and then you're done with it in 6 or 8 episodes. Then where do you go? I mean that's the real problem here with British television shows.
It's like when they're good and they really start to hit they're over and they're gone. GONE!
Then you feel like maybe you shouldn't have wasted anytime watching it in the first place cause now you don't get to see where they were even going with it.
American television on the other hand has the opposite problem. Where it'll go on forever and they've run out of ideas but because it makes money they just keep pushing it. I guess you can't win.
Anyway what I'm trying to say is it's a fun quirky little show. Don't expect a lot of big belly laughs but it is a lot of fun once you get into it. Then it's over so don't get to attached.
I kind of want to watch a few more episodes before it's gone, oops too late.
