༆𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 - 𝐒𝟏 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰༆ ★★★★★ 𝟵.𝟳/𝟭𝟬 Wow this was amazing. I didn’t expect to like it that much considering that creepy cult mystery genre isn’t my usual type of show. But I’ve been surprised. It didn’t made me want to watch more creepy type of show very soon tho, but I don’t say never. I liked to open my mind on this genre and I think there are many other genres I should discover. I don’t think to be a noir/crime fan for example, but I don’t think I‘be ever officially tried out so I guess I can still change my mind. I think when there is some mystery, I directly like it. Anyway, this was really a surprise for me. I enjoyed every inch of the season, except some very creepy part lol but it was needed for the plot so I won’t complain. I wasn’t expecting two episodes to be part of my top 50 episodes but here we are (1x5 and 1x8). One of my favourite character discovery from 2025 for sure. The way his backstory is talked about gives his character so much depth. All his monologues about life and death (and stars) were beautiful. I enjoyed every scene of him. 𝟮-𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝘁 Marty wasn’t my favourite thing from the season cause he is kind of a jackass sometimes but I still got attached to his character. He really is eaten by his addictions to women, to sex, to alcohol, and to control too I would say. Even though he cheated on Maggie (how can you cheat on such a beautiful women for real…), I still was more mad to Maggie than to him at the end for revenging that cheating by using Rust. 👥𝗧𝗢𝗣 𝗗𝗬𝗡𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗦👥 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘁⥃𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 Their dynamic was so good! Definitely one of the greatest part of the show. I loved how their relationship has been pictured from beginning to end in only 8 episodes. From being strangers but co workers to being inseparable after the things they lived together, and looking at the stars together. They just can’t live without one another now. 🏗️𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪'𝘀 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦🏗️ 𝗙𝗔𝗩𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗧 (+𝟬.𝟭) 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗵𝗹𝗲 Rust was sooo fascinating. I even almost put him in my top10 characters for real. I think Marty is also the protagonist of the show but anyway. Rust is on the top! 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 (+𝟬.𝟭) 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘆 He really made one of the greatest performance I’ve witnessed. For knowing his acting in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, his acting in TD really is on another level. I should rewatch Interstellar to witness again his acting that must be great in this. The best part of his acting was his dialogues in my opinion, which was my favourite thing from this season. 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠𝗘 (+𝟬.𝟭) Of course I added the season on my favourite opening theme cause I mean… I just had too. This opening definitely is one my favourite of all times so far and now I understand why someone (don’t remember who exactly) told me in the comments that TD opening theme should be included in my list, well now it is. 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗨𝗘𝗦 (+𝟬.𝟭) That’s the first time I use that category but truly I couldn’t not use it.
