was SO ready to not like this one because I think doing awkward romance stories in animation, ESPECIALLY family animation is always done the same way, everytime, and it just doesn’t work most of the time. Color me shocked when this is probably one of the most devastating things I think I’ve seen Pixar pull off, at least in a narrative sense. Genuinely grounded writing that arguably appeals more to adults than children and despite me not vibing with it at first, the steaks gradually make it more interesting and lead to that absolute destroyer of an ending. Give this guy a break in the season finale I’m begging you!
