I'm sorry but the Kaoru that I know would never behave like this. This episode was so weird for me. Some individual parts were good: Kaoru bringing fresh flowers for Rei, Nanako's mother finally saying something substantial for once... but the rest was, I felt, very inconsequential when I look at how this story began. I legit forgot Fukiko was still a relevant character in the story, and while I know it's a sign of growth for her to face the situation with Kaoru, I wanted to scream when she pronounced Rei's name. Girl, half of the reasons why she died are your fault. I also want to tell Nanako's mother that Nanako doesnt need to fall in love with "a boy" and that she is not foreign to love feelings with Rei. My main grip is that Kaoru has always been a lesbia-- I mean, independent character, and seeing her like this feels like a regression. Especially egregious for the story to let Henmi have his own dream (going to Germany) while Kaoru's dream is... to be with Henmi and let him leave his dream? Girl??? You?????? PS. Hilarious that she slapped Nanako (seriously, thats like the 7th person who's done so in the series).
