Twin peaks season 1 - A great and wholly original season of TV that is textbook Lynch. Mysterious and weird, yet earnest and grounded. The character work in this show is exceptional, and its easy to get used to just how good it is and forget that compared to most seasons of television, this is simply a different class. The pilot episode is probably my favorite - 90 minutes of emotion and intrigue as we're introduced to the town of Twin Peaks. The score, the setting, the way it's shot - I'm as in love with these aspects as people were in 1990. Some episodes certainly outshine others, and the complex nature of the characters, plot threads and their relationships do make it confusing to follow at times with the pacing and editing. Additionally, this is far from a complete season of TV, at only 8 episodes which clearly are not concluded. Season 2 will massively influence how I feel about Season 1 considering a lot of set up here is yet to be paid off. That's the only reason I'm keeping this at a solid 4 star rather than an astounding 4.5.

My favourite characters are - 

1. Agent Cooper. Easy choice, he's extremely funny and unorthodox and the most entertaining character when he's on screen for sure.
2. Audrey. Her scenes are so great because she is actually a fantastic detective, but there's more mystery because we have little information about her motives. Her role as Ben's daughter complicates things too and adds a lot of subtext to her character.
3. Ed because he's cold as ice.

HM Lucy and Andy for being funny.

My favourite dynamics were

1. Cooper and Audrey because the chemistry wow (and theyre the best two policemen on the show and neither of them are policemen)
2. Cooper and Harry because their scenes are always great, and they play off eachother amazingly 
3. James and Donna because they add something different to the season and also have some of the sweetest and most touching moments with their shared trauma.

This show is great so far, moving straight onto S2 but a little worried because I know Lynch was less involved moving forwards and unhappy with some decisions. But as I'm going in blind, I'll judge for myself.
