I usually give an average as my rating, but that ending really soured my taste, man... Sigh... The first season was pretty good. The first half of Season 2 was pretty good, too! But the ending? Oh, man. The lack of much-needed runtime became apparent. This show needed 24 eps per season or something, because I was NOT moved by most of the arcs by the end. Kiritsugu's is super simplistic. Saber's was just lip service. Kirei's was so random. And Waver's was severely underdeveloped. All of this to say, by the time I got to the last episode, this show that once had me on the edge of my seat and moved me, made me sad, fearful and genuinely excited at times, now made me numb. It had really cool plotting episodes and some episodes with cool and interesting themes! But, I think it needed more episodes focused as character studies. Saber needed some. Kiritsugu needed either a wish less absurd or had more screen time to make his arc fully work. And Waver needed more, too. It had potential. I loved the urban-fantasy of it. I loved the night time vibes! And the animation was pretty good, especially during fight scenes. But, in the end, it just didn't stick the landing, in my opinion <:[ And for this reason, I sadly don't recommend it.
