It's easy to see why this show had such huge appeal. It's essentially a soap opera, but made to the highest possible quality, with David damn Lynch at the head, so of course it was loved by the masses. Lots of relationships, lots of clues and mystery, and then a weird fuckin dream with a dancing small person and fake Laura Palmer in a red room. I have no idea at all what that scene meant, but I'm eager to keep watching and probably never receive an answer.
I do wonder if Lynch though the show was going to get this odd when he made the pilot, because for ninety minutes that was extremely grounded and normal. Perhaps he was just testing the waters. Either way, I can sense it's only getting stranger from here.
