Everything about this was amazing, hugh dancy and mads were incredible in their roles. The relationship between will graham and hannibal is tragic and romantic in the best way possible, while being the most complex relationship on tv. The first season and halfway through season 2 starts off pretty "normal" with a delightful amount of gore and some subtext of these twos relationship. Halfway through season 2 however? Absolutely insane, the back and forth murder courting of two men absolutely and unhealthy obsessed with each other. The ending of season 2 made me cry to the point of nausea, and season 3 exceeded my expectations. Everything about this show is incredible, the cinematography, the symbolism, the complexity of the characters and how they interact. The inflections in their voices and micro-expressions shows how deep the show goes, and you realize something new w you watch it. The stag and wendigo symbolism is one of my favorite parts of the show. The horror aspect really shines, but at its heart it is a grotesque love story, and one that isn't sexualized. I could not say that any of the characters were badly written, though I wish we could have seen more of Abigail and how she interacted with will and hannibal. I would die for a season 4, but the end of season 3 was just as tragic as it was perfect, so I have no complaints at all.
