4/5 “Not everything in the galaxy can be calculated. Sometimes… you have to trust your gut.” Y’all this was so much fun! I would have eaten this UP as a kid omg this is honestly a great show. The mystery of At Attin was so cool, I loved working through it and getting new hints each episode. Old republic credits? What did it mean!! Even though it was geared towards younger viewers, the show never talked down to you or dumbed down a plot because of the audience age. You can have a show that doesn’t include sexual themes or major gore (aka things that aren’t for kids!) but still have it be an exciting, mysterious, dark, and engaging adventure for all ages. I grew up with clone wars and rebels and now kids these days can grow up with stories like Skeleton Crew. Those shows I grew up with treated younger characters like Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine as fully fleshed out characters with backstories and trauma who had to make hard choices, not just little babies, and I’m glad Skeleton Crew did the same with the main cast of kids. I’m really glad Star Wars is catering to all different audiences, with shows like this and young Jedi adventures for younger viewers and shows like Andor for adults. In my opinion that’s what’s great about Star Wars, there’s so much variety and opportunity to tell so many stories within this one universe. The main cast of kids was great, but I do wanna shoutout my man Jude Law as Jod/Silvo/literally bro has ten million names. His character was SO fun, watching him progress from a disgruntled dad into the show’s main antagonist. He’s a great addition to the Star Wars universe and his backstory as a street urchin turned unorthodox padawan turned pirate captain is SO COOL. I need more of that!! Top 3 episodes: 1. The real good guys (ep 8) 2. We’re gonna be in so much trouble (ep 7) 3. You have a lot of learn about pirates (ep 5) Top 3 characters: 1. CAPTAIN FERN 🫡🌿 2. KB 3. SM-33 🏴‍☠️ Obviously honorable mention to my boys Wim and Neel but tbh Fern and KB stole the show 😤💅
