Gonna try not to give another long ass review / first impressions this time lmao XD

I think it’s interesting that the scene in Civil War where Tony Stark basically recruits Peter was recreated here. Only this time, it came across as far less, well, frankly creepy. I’m still thinking about my initial reaction to that whole affair. I still don’t understand why Tony felt he had to do that. I guess it DID kinda go along with his character’s arc and his growing philanthropic ventures (outreach to help underprivileged students something something). 

To me, Norman’s outreach makes a bit more sense in context. It fits the surface-level philanthropic vibe he always tries to pull off, but it also has that double function of keeping him close because he knows Peter’s secret.

In other news, it was great to see Amadeus Cho (Totally Awesome Hulk) here. I don’t know why I keep being surprised when I see other Marvel heroes pop up because many other Spiderman cartoons have included other folks across the Marvel universe smh 🤦🏾‍♂️😅 (sometimes assisting Peter with his missions, no less)

Doctor Connors being race and gender bent kinda makes me think of Miles’ 1610 universe and how Doc Ock is a lady. Perfectly fine with all the ‘changes’ because it’s not the 616 universe so you can take a more experimental approach with casting. That’s what Spiderverse taught me anyways.

It’s only ep 2 and so far, the pacing seems okay, up until Osborn showed up and recruited Peter. I could only compare this to the 2017 Spider-Man cartoon that had a similar setup, only it was more of a rival schools situation. Big difference is that that series had tons more episodes so the plot and characters felt more fleshed out.

We will see with this one, won’t we? (Still anxious for ep 3 👀)
