Where to start.
This show was so much fun. There's layers and layers to it, and I felt all of the subplots were pretty strong. We do switch gears plot wise a few times, but I think overall everything makes sense and was engaging and fun, so I don't mind.
The characters were so fun. I'm not sure if any of this was improvised but there were bits that seemed so natural and it really did seem like the actors enjoyed their time with this project. I love when I can feel that through the screen.
Really funny. ALSO, hey, ALSO really not funny at all. Yet another show that made me giggle haha only to leave me traumatized. I guess I have a type.
My singular gripe about this show is the song choices. I'm not sure why they kept using the same two songs over and over again (California Dreamin' and that one acoustic song) there might have even been a third one, but the constant usage of them annoyed me a bit. I was trying to figure out a theme amongst the parts where the song would play and maybe my memory is just poor, but I don't think there is one. There was one song that was an actual motif and I liked that one, but the other two just seemed like the producer was like, "well, we got the rights to this twenty second section of the song, might as well use just that part as much as possible!" I haven't looked into this (and I probably wont), so maybe I'm wrong and there is a bigger story reason behind that.
Anyway, I had a good time with this one. Until it made me want to die (figuratively).
