Poster for Girls' Last Tour
Been a while since I interacted with a piece of media that felt so explicitly made to appeal to me in every way, from it's attention put towards anti war themes and rediscoveries of the old world's past to a focus on female friendship (that is slightly gay tbh) and an apocalyptic setting used less for Grueling explorations of violence and more on a meditative tone that creates such a unique feeling to it's world and events that I don't think I've seen replicated in any other piece of media. It's a truly special gem, an underrated masterpiece that deserves the attention many lesser shows receive, although I understand the slow pace and lack of real action will bore some. To me though, this just means the world to me. It's everything I ever wanted from this show crafted at such an incredible level of mastery in every way, from the soothing soundtrack to the haunting visuals of the baren cityscapes and Sci Fi scenery and the incredibly written dialogue between the main 2 characters. This is just perfect. I'm so happy this exists, and I will definitely continue the manga so I can see the full happenings of the story.
