When I grasped the idea that this season was about Valerie working again with Paulie G on a show that clearly depicted her in such a bad light, I dreaded it because not only I didn't wanna contaminate my eyes by seeing that fuckface, I feel like the entire season's documentary setup would be a repetition of S1. Then, the second half of this season takes the storm into the juicy land. With Jane seemingly more ambitious yet caring for Val than she was in the previous season and Val growing more spine than she had back 10 years ago, this season picked up some darker topics to put on display.
Lisa Kudrow is fantastic and Robert Michael Morris, may he rest in peace, is even funnier than in S1. The cameos of the cast from the previous season felt essential, as they each brought cautionary tales of how ugly Hollywood can treat its own folks, but the new cast brought in for this season are also splendid. Seth Rogen and Rose Abdoo are definitely scene-stealers.
