DUDE this is getting unbelievably good. Yes, I have a bias and really want to and enjoy liking AoT, but oh my days this is hard to pick apart. Practically the exact same as Reiner's backstory, but it tells such a different story about such a different character. It's unbelievable to me how Attack On Titan has the capability of dropping an episode of THIS writing quality, where just 2 episodes ago it was an unbearable stretch of nothing special at all.

The way it comes together at the end with the dynamic between Eren's motive being the polar-opposite to Zeke's, though they settle on a plan that perfectly fulfills both desires is incredible. I also have to say that Zeke and Grisha are some of the best voice actors in the show. Sure, Mikasa and Levi's are iconic and sound really cool, but Zeke, Grisha, and even Eren in a couple scenes (Erwin in s3 too) just nailed this art of such a recognizable voice, and using it well. It's sort of basic to just say "woah this crying/yelling scene was epic," but something about Japanese voices speaking with intensity is so cool to me, and OH MY DAYS Grisha screaming sounds terrific.

This also marks the episode where true emotional turmoil and moral conflict starts really eating the mind of the audience. How can you look at Zeke and say that he's the bad guy now? Does this make Eren the new bad guy that needs to be stopped? He wants the same thing as Eren, right? I'm thrilled to finally enter one of the greatest anime arcs oat, and funnily enough, it's sort of a remake of a previous AoT arc, as this is their second time *returning* to Shiganshina
