This is a well-crafted series with excellent writing. On one side, it portrays the brutality, systemic corruption, and rigid hierarchy of prison life. On the other, it humanizes the main trio of jailers, making them grounded, and complex. Both aspects are equally impactful throughout the series, but one eventually dominates, leaving a necessary impact on the characters and delivering a cliffhanger that keeps viewers eagerly anticipating the next season. Excluding the main trio, eccentric and morally grey characters evoke a range of emotions, including hatred, as their layers unfold.
