GOODBYEEEEEEE using A CHAPPELL ROAN SONG for minho and kitty when there’s multiple sapphic characters in this show is INSANE! also, what was even the point of making yuri and kitty kiss if, in the end, yuri’s not even shown being confused by incoming feelings for kitty or struggling with defining their friendship as maybe something more? it makes no sense for yuri to be portrayed as desperately in love with juliana but then cheat on her on a whim, supposedly without any conflicting feelings for kitty involved. it also doesn’t make ANY sense with yuri’s own character, who’s always been shown as a loyal friend and self-sacrificing in order to get her girlfriend back. like i said, if they had written yuri a proper character arc in which she began to blur the lines of friendship and romance with kitty… then it would explain, at the very least, her suddenly being confused and acting uncharacteristically impulsive. instead, the kiss was rushed without any pay-off or explanation and their “romantic” development was discarded for empty fan-service. lazy writing for real!!!!! this show has never had award-winning writing, obviously… but the first season was way more solid than this. also, dare i say, the show marketed HEAVY on yuri and kitty being properly explored this second season… it made sense — after all, season 1 ended with kitty confessing her love to her. instead, we get no real confrontation of these feelings between the two and it’s ultimately just kitty pining after yuri whilst yuri focuses only on juliana… even though yuri initiated a kiss on a whim… for seemingly no reason. directing kitty and minho towards an endgame is fine, but this is not even allowing us to see how kitty and yuri would be like together, non-platonically, beforehand. we got it with dae (s1) and we got it with minho, sort of, this season. why is yuri the only exception? nevermind, the reason is always clear lol it’s netflix handling wlw, so… 🤣 what did we expect! anyways, i probably shouldn’t feel so strongly about a show like this but hearing my girl chappell play specifically in a straight couple scene PISSED ME OFFFFF… and after this messy handling of queer characters… idgaf, actually criminal!
