The second season of Squid Game is too redundant with respect to the first season. There are too many situations that are repeated in both seasons. Many instances where, inserted in their own arc, they are reiterated almost in a carbon copy. This takes away all the originality that could have been used in a second installment of the Squid Game universe. If I keep thinking about it, there are more negative things, although not all terrible. The comedy here is more absurd and less effective. The performances are just as exaggerated, taking away credibility from the story. The sequence of events is quite predictable. The direction work abuses the zoom in so much that it becomes annoying.
However, to be fair, it's still an entertaining series, albeit to a lesser extent. It's very much on the border between boring and entertaining, staying on the entertaining side for its own sake.
The most notable thing is the good use of drama. This is an aspect that improved compared to the first season. The open ending is just a hook for the third season that only attracts to know the outcome of this second Squid Game.
