A masterfully and beautifully crafted story, visually, conceptually, thematically etc. Thorfinns arc, the way it ended, I’m pretty devastated it’s over I want more and I don’t even know when or if S3 is coming. Manga might have to be read before then.

So many good character additions in S2, Einar, Thorgill, Snake, Ketil, Olmar, Arnheid, Gardar list goes on, a lot more minor characters in terms of how grand their arcs were or what they contributed to the plot but great individual characters as single stories or foils for Thorfinn. The focus on Einar and Thorfinn was enough tho, then Canutes war with the farm and the infamous “I have no enemies” speech - the two different philosophies of Canute and Thorfinn in achieving the same goal was so good. And the long awaited return of Thorfinn to Iceland and to Helga and Ylva. 

Completely different tonally, way less action-oriented and more story driven than S1 but brilliant in its own right.
